This one has been pretty obvious for some time now but it is now official that Matthijs de Ligt has joined the reigning Serie A Champions Juventus for an initial 75 million Euros plus up to an additional 10.5 million Euros worth of add-ons. The still only 19 year old defender has signed a 5 year deal which will keep him at the Allianz Stadium until 30 June 2024.
De Ligt had attracted interest from a host of other clubs including PSG but in the end the Dutchman chose Juve and will now strengthen what was an already strong if ageing Bianconeri backline. With Chiellini and Bonucci already well into their 30s it's clear that this is signing not just for now but for the next 10+ years for Juventus.
